The little boy is 8 months old today! What a cutie!!!

Here's what N is up to these days. He is on the verge of crawling – so, so close. He likes to rock back and forth on this knees but no forward movement yet. (Which is fine with us!) He can stand with support but occasionally falls over. He is very observant and loves to check out EVERYTHING around him. Tonight I was trying to put him down before bed, and he was so intrigued by the noise machine and the light coming form it that he kept looking over my shoulder, behind the glider, to see what was back there. He loves toys – sqeaky toys, rubber balls, stackable rings, those things you push and little doors open and creatures pop out, Sophie the giraffe, anything that he can put in his mouth. He doesn't seem to like stuffed animals or little loveys yet.

His favorite creatures are still the girls and Lucky. He will watch Lucky walk, run, jump, bark, anything – and he likes to pet him (and pinch his ear). He LOVES the girls, especially when they sing, smile, dance, kiss and hug him, laugh, hold him, etc. They love going to get him in the morning and he is always thrilled to see him.

N is eating more food, but he does NOT like peas or butternut squash very much. We've tried. Repeatedly. Lately he has been eating more Cheerios and tonight he had some Rice Crispies, which are hard for him to get into his mouth, but which he enjoys. He's still nursing – morning and evening and right before bed. I worked from home today and was able to nurse him during the day, which was great.

Tonight we made cupcakes to celebrate the girls' 8 3/4 birthday yesterday.

M is working on some mathematical chain for math club that is taking hours and lines and lines on the paper. I have no idea what she is doing – Daddy is helping her and it doesn't seem to be all that fun.

So here's the little 8 monther! We love him so much.
