Poor N has strep. Daddy took him in to the doctor this AM, along with M, who like N has mysterious bug bites on her legs. Turns out the bug bites are OK (not ticks or bedbugs) but N does have strep. Daddy took him to BBM and then CVS to get meds. Then my adventures began. First, I tried to get him to take the meds from the plunger thing. He took about 2 ml (out of 6) and proceeded to throw the whole thing up. Projectile, all of his baked goods that Daddy bought him at BBM. Then I tried to bury the taste with applesauce. He ate about 2 teaspoons of the applesauce (out of a huge bowl) and threw that up too. I concede that the medicine, masked with a flimsy layer of bubblegum flavor, tasted terrible. But ugh.
So I called the ped's office. Could I get pills for him and cut them up really small and put them in pudding and have him swallow it, like a dog? No, turns out that wouldn't work because the dosages were off. So we decided to try a different liquid antibiotic. I picked it up after work and brought it home and… he ate it! He made one small gag at first but then he ate the rest. Yay. With one dose of meds in his system he may be going back to school tomorrow.
Did I mention that M got an interview at Walls? That will happen on Saturday, while A is at rehearsal and N is at basketball. Not sure how that is going to work out.
And A and I are going to volunteer at Lucky Dog Animal Rescue on Sunday. And it's Oscars and Purim Festival. Lots going on this weekend!
I am off to Arizona tomorrow for 2 nights. Back on Friday.
