N is getting to be more interested in superheroes, thanks to Headfirst Camp. Today he came home with a cape that he had made and a shield made from a Frisbee. He also had a card that asked some questions: "What is one thing you want to do on your own that you don't?" "What would it take to make you able to do it?" He said he'd like to go to the bathroom by himself. I asked what was holding him back – I can't remember what he answered, but he's definitely interested in being more self sufficient in the restroom.
Tonight he wore a Superman cape at home and asked me how he could help me.
I think camp improved over the course of the week. He seems to be liking it, which is good.
The girls and I ran a lot of errands today to get ready for camp. We started a puzzle tonight, which we need to finish before they go – a Cape Cod puzzle that I love:
Still a lot to do to get them packed and ready.
Daddy and A were talking about the state of our house last week, and A called it "Downton Shabby". So true.
Tonight M and A and Griffin and Shelby and I went to Adams Morgan (at 10:15 on a Friday night – otherwise known as crazy) to buy this cookie dough in jars that they are selling in a popup shop. It was yummy but definitely hard to get there with all the traffic and cops.
It's fun having the Kinches here, and it was good to see Amy's mom today for a little visit.
