Today we had lunch with a guy who Daddy knows through someone else (we'd never met him before), along with his wife, daughter, baby and in-laws. (They are American but live part of the time in Lake Como). We ate at a famous restaurant on an island – the only island – in Lake Como. The menu never changes. A bunch of vegetable dishes (delicious), followed by salmon trout, followed by chicken, then a hunk of cheese, then ice cream/fruit/banana liquer. The food was fantastic and the views were even better. It was a long meal but the company was very nice and interesting, and it's hard to complain when you're sitting on an island in Lake Como!
After the lunch we took a water shuttle to the mainland and then a taxi to Como. We went to a few cute stores in Como and walked around the main square outside the Duomo there and hung out near the ferry building to catch the ferry back to Lezzeno. It was a pleasant, if long day. (Ferries ran on Italian time – 30-40 mins late.)
Tomorrow we are heading to Venice for the day. We need to get up early as it will be a very long day.
