Erev Spelling Bee

Tomorrow is the CCES Spelling Bee and N is nervous. We've been quizzing him on lots of hard words on the list – words like hobbledehoy and crevices and Sanskrit and acknowledged and tankard and on and on. N is prepared and we hope that he is happy with his showing tomorrow. We are proud of him no matter what happens.

Tonight Dad's friend from law school, Mike McGarry, came over for dinner. He got to experience quizzing N on spelling words and also played a game of chess with N. He also experienced fun dog drama – H got into a bag of expired dog treats, ate a ton of them, and threw them all up all over the family room. I took him to the vet at like 930 and just got home a little while ago (1147PM). He got anti nausea meds and fluids and seems to be OK. Just another night.

And poor Grampy has covid – his first time – and we are hoping he will be feeling a lot better by tomorrow. He is weak and tired and has no appetite.

I'd say I really need a weekend, but I am unemployed, so this whole week has been a weekend. Just not a very relaxing one!
