Today is Valentine's Day!
M celebrated with some chocolates we sent her, and she sent us roses and pickles (aw) today via delivery and a smoothie to A in NYC. Very sweet.
A isn't opening her chocolates until she meets a deadline tomorrow, and then she is going to celebrate.
N hasn't opened his valentines yet but will do so after dinner! We are going to go out somewhere very low key.
N's class party was a lot of fun. There was a game where a very large wrapped gift got passed around while music was playing. When the music stopped, the person holding the gift opened just the outer layer, where a small present was hidden (candy, lip balm, pens, etc.). Then the music started again, and then it stopped, the next kid holding it unwrapped just one layer, etc etc etc. Hard to describe, but really fun. The class really got into it. N got a pack of Juicyfruit gum. His amazing teacher Ms. Bailey had PERSONALIZED BAGS MADE FOR EACH KID to hold their valentines. So sweet. I brought bags of party mix that most of the kids seemed to like. All in all, a fun, not-crazy, easy party!
I also forgot to mention that last week, we went to hear a talk with the guy who covers the Nats for MASN, Mark Zuckerman, and his podcast partner from Nats Chat. N asked some really good questions and they were very impressed with his knowledge of the game and level of sophistication. He even got a free t-shirt. Bottom line – we're in a rebuild.
That’s a British kids party game- “pass the parcel”- I’d never seen it until I moved here. It’s very cute!
I had no idea! That’s so cute. Great tradition.
