M&A Are Home!!!

The girls are home!!!!

It is so great to see them and have them here in the house. They had a really good time at camp but they are happy to be home.

I am so tired from not much sleep last night and an emotional day today so I am just going to post this adorable pic of M&A and their best friends from Bunk 31 and a write-up from Anna S, the head of Unit D.

Hello to my amazing Unit D families!

Wow! So much has happened since I last wrote!  It’s incredible how much excitement we manage to pack into each day here! I especially can’t believe that it’s the last day of camp for our two-weekers!  How is it possible that we’re already halfway through first session?

Wednesday, some of our Unit D girls got the chance to go on a rock climbing trip that they signed up for earlier this week.  They spent the day out of camp, and came back exhausted and so happy.  Back at camp, we celebrated “Weird Shirt Wednesday”, where you wear your wackiest shirts around camp for the day!  There was a crazy selection of wacky wear all over camp, and it served as a fun reminder that we can be silly and confident at camp.

Wednesday night, Unit D went over to Camp Airy to do some unit bonding and have a pizza party!  We got to eat pizza and meet our counterparts at Airy.  After pizza, we played some get-to-know-you games, and it was so fun to see the kids get acquainted with each other.

After unit bonding, we went downhill to the fields and joined the rest of camp at the Airy Circus Carnival!  The carnival was so much fun.  There were lots of different booths set up offering all sorts of carnival games, like ring toss, cornhole, a staring contest, and so much more.  The girls could earn tickets by winning games, which they could then exchange for prizes!  There were also a ton of exciting food options at the carnival.  There were Kona Ice trucks, funnel cake, and popcorn – I don’t need to tell you how excited the girls were for the treats! There were games on offer as well, such as “human billiards”, and bubble ball soccer, which is a really fun game in which the kids get in inflatable balls and bounce around!

At 9pm, we all gathered on the Airy hill to watch fireworks!  Fireworks at Airy are so much fun, because we get our own private show.  The show was almost 20 minutes long, and it was amazing!  After fireworks, the girls got to go back to the carnival for a little bit before heading back to Camp Louise.

Thursday, a few Unit D campers went to Capital Camps to participate in Intercamp Sports Day! A group from Airy and Louise went to Capital Camps to compete in soccer and basketball, and do some athletic workshops too!

Last night, we had Cab Night for our two-week campers! Cab Night is a special tradition at camp.  The night before campers leave, we all get dressed up and have a special dinner to celebrate!  After Cab Night, we got to see Jewish Chicks Rock!  This is the night that our camp bands get to perform for the entire camp, and it’s always so impressive to see how talented our campers are.  Finally, we ended the night with a unit pizza party to celebrate the end of the first short session.

It’s hard to believe we said goodbye to our two-weekers this morning, but we’re so happy when we think back on all the fun things we’ve done so far.
