As crazy as yesterday was, today was a less complicated day.
I got up early and did the Georgetown 10-Miler. It was very muddy and wet. but I finished in my usual 10-miler time. I was home by 10:30, and Daddy took N to a birthday party at Glen Echo. Apparently, there were ten stressful minutes when N and a friend had ended up in another birthday party and Daddy couldn't find him. Eventually he located N and Leyla sitting at another party eating pizza! Here is N at the carousel:
The girls slept very late and hung around the house today. A finished Math 8 (M finished it last Wednesday)! We're all glad to have it behind us. A made guacamole which was delicious.
We did a home DIY project – we covered the underside of A's bed, which M looks at every night and morning, with a beautiful image using a roller shade.
And N entertained us at dinner:
Here is the cutest thing. At dinner, N said "I love this day." He loved going to the party and then being home with us the rest of the day. It was so sweet. His soccer class was cancelled at the last minute, which I can't tell if he was sad about or not. He said, "I've just been playing so many days." (He has played 2 out of 5.) But he was clearly very happy tonight.
We had an excellent teacher conference for N on Friday, which I will write up tomorrow, and we have conferences for the girls tomorrow.
