No Power Day

Today was a weird day.

I took the girls to school at 8:20 this morning, and there were school buses outside ready to take Team Dakar to a field trip to a place that teaches financial planning. When we got there, there were lots of kids waiting outside the school to go in, which is very unusual at that time. It turns out there was a power outage nearby and Deal had no power. I went home and heard a robocall that Deal was open and that the girls were going on their field trip. Then i got another robocall that Deal was closed but that the field trip would go on as planned. Then I got a call from M that they were back at Deal and needed to be picked up. Good thing I had decided to work from home today!

So the girls had a day at home today. They read, did homework, drew, practiced piano and did other stuff. Then they had piano lessons from Grandma. Imogene left early for a doctor appointment so we all had dinner together and then did a bunch of Math 8 lessons tonight. Long day.

A few funny things for the blog tonight.

I told the girls when they got home from school that they had to be productive today – no TV, no silly videos, just homework and reading. A looked at me and said, "Touche", which made no sense but was very funny anyway.

There was something else she said at dinner that was very funny but we can't remember what it was!

How cute is this? M gave A a bag of assorted colored bows for her birthday. A hung them on her bed like this:

And the girls have a signout system for whoever wants to wear one of the bows:
