Our beautiful M&A turned 12 today! We are so proud of these two wonderful girls. What a great (and long!) day!
Everyone slept in late after a late night last night after A's show. Daddy prepared a great breakfast in bed for the girls and we woke them up with trays, as is our longstanding tradition.
Then the girls came downstairs and got their big birthday presents – new bikes!
Then they each got ready – M to go to the Spring Fair (or what remained of it after it got moved to a new location and pared down due to rain), and A to go to Deal for her shows. M took N to the Fair, which was so cute. She bought him lots of unhealthy food and stayed with him the whole time. I went by the community yard sale and got N some new (to him) puzzles, including a Curious George puzzle, a Where the Wild Things Are puzzle (which N recognized from reading it at school), a Hungry Caterpillar puzzle, and a few others. Before we left, we took the annual bench photos outside:
Daddy and Grandma and Grandpa met M at the Fair after a while, and I went back to Deal to get in line for the matinee show. It was great, again! We all loved it. Grandma Sandy joined us this time, and she had a great time.
After the show, I went to go pick up M&A's cake for tomorrow, and discovered not one but two typos on the cake. The cake is now being delivered to us tomorrow morning. 🙂
A stayed at school for the cast party. Because it was also her birthday, a group of her friends helped her count down to 4:05PM (when she was born) and they sang to her.
Pretty soon it was time to go back to Deal for the evening show. Another cheering club – this time Nate, Grandma, Grandpa and Imogene joined us for the show. Nate did so well! He paid attention through most of it and didn't fuss. He kept waving at A when he saw her on stage.
Daddy took a lot of photos of the show, which I will share later as it's already 12:08AM and I am ready for bed. A did such a wonderful job and got a lot of compliments! I will share all of the show and post-show pics this week.
After the show we went to dinner at Maggiano's (M&A's choice). Even though it was late and we were starving, we had a good time and N actually ate! He had noodles and fried calamari. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for a lovely birthday dinner.
We returned back here for cake – a 7 layer cake from NY that A loves, which Grandma brought down – and presents. The girls got lots of great gifts, including gift cards to cool places like Amazon, Sephora and Fandango, coupons for great things to do and eat in NY when they go up for Memorial Day weekend, and from us, baking supplies and the 2015 blog book.
We are all beat. Tomorrow will be another busy day – Mother's Day and the girls' birthday party at Zavazone!
We hope that the girls had a wonderful birthday, filled with friends and fun and family. They got to see all of their grandparents this weekend, A did three wonderful shows, and they have a party tomorrow. Not a bad way to kick off a new year!
