We have a magnet collection which we add to every time we travel. Magnets make great souvenirs – they are not expensive, easy to carry home, and usually very plentiful. When I am traveling alone, I pick the magnet myself, but when we are traveling as a family, we pick it together. And we usually pick a magnet that reflects something personal about the place and about the time we spent there.
Here are the magnets we picked from Taiwan and Tokyo this year. We picked them because of 1) sushi; 2) bubble tea; 3) Tamsui, the neighborhood where M lives; 4) Tokyo City View, where we saw those amazing views; and 5) Tokyo Tower, which we all went to and which N and Dad went to the top of on our last morning. Strangely, it was very hard to find magnets in Tokyo.
Here is our whole collection. I need to buy another board from Etsy as we are now full (the bottom pic was before I put the new ones in). They say "Oh, the places we've been!" at the bottom.
