Seattle II

Here is the update from Seattle.

Yesterday after I posted, we went to the Pike Place Market and did the usual: bought donuts and pepper jelly, walked through rainbows of flowers, and had lunch across the street from the market.

After we got home, the kids played outside for a while. A shot hoops with O and Ben and M played catch.

Ben had a soccer game which everyone went to except for N and me (he was napping).

After the game we went to dinner with some friends. The less said about it the better.

Today, it was back to school for Ben and Olivia and work for Deb and Jonathan. We went downtown and saw a great exhibit about Pompeii at the Pacific Science Center. Then we went to a butterfly exhibit in the same complex, which was very cool (and warm!).

We then headed to Capitol Hill to visit one of my favorite bookstores, The Elliott Bay Bookstore. We had lunch at a very Seattle-esque restaurant called The Oddfellow Cafe, and then browsed books for a while. I got out for under $100, which was a victory. Most of the stuff I got was for the kids.

We came home and put N to bed, and then I drove M&A to Mercer Island so that they could spend the rest of the day with their friend Jessie. It was a nice reunion:

I then drove back to Kirkland, where N eventually woke up and we left to head back to Mercer Island for dinner with Robin and her family. It was a nice dinner and great to catch up with her, Craig and her kids. Finally, we left and went back to the Levines to get the girls. We hung out with them for at least an hour in their gorgeous home, which meant a late night back to Kirkland. Little N didn't go to bed until 10:30. But everyone is now asleep.

Tomorrow we are headed to Vancouver for two nights. We've never been and are excited to go!

A quick thanks to Grandma Sandy, who has been tending to A's tomato plant in her absence. It sprouted!

I think M is regretting leaving her plant at school over break!
