Two Great Things Happened Today

Two really good things happened today.

First, A got her braces off! We weren't sure the orthodontist would say that A was ready, but since this appointment had been postponed a few weeks, she said she could take them off today. A will need braces again, but for now, she's braces-free. Next week she gets her expander replaced with a holding wire. Her front teeth are so straight!

The second really good thing that happened is that the girls went to the ballet with Grampy tonight as part of their birthday present. They went to dinner at the Terrace Restaurant at the Kennedy Center, and then saw the ABT perform "Cinderella". And, most exciting, MISTY COPELAND WAS IN THE BALLET TONIGHT! They got to see her live. They were extremely excited and had a great time. Nana couldn't go because she had eye surgery yesterday and has a scratched cornea and is in a lot of pain. She was definitely missed. Thank you to Nana and Grampy for a lovely birthday present.

Not a bad day AT ALL!

One funny N story. I've been telling him funny little stories at night, just silly things that I make up. A few nights ago, I told him a story about how N was trying to get Lucky to stop barking at him to give Lucky food, and Lucky wouldn't stop. So N quickly transformed himself into a dragon, roared at Lucky, and then turned back into N. In the story, it scared Lucky so much that he didn't bark for three whole days. Meanwhile, N has seen an annoying commercial about "We'll sell your house in seven days!". He's been singing it around the house. (Silly us, we thought it was a song about Passover.) So the night after I told N the story about the dragon, I was rocking him in the chair and he said, "Tell me the dragon story again." When I got to the part about Lucky being quiet for 3 days, he said, "No, for 'seven days!'", sung in the melody of the commercial. It was very funny.
