Today was a hard day. Grandma Sandy had surgery on her foot and has a long recovery ahead of her. She had a long surgery and spent most of the day at Sibley. Tonight she is at her friend's house but she will be back at her house next week. En route from the hospital, we drove by the house so that she could say hi to the girls, which would cheer her up. They came out to the car to say hi.

The girls had a short day – 12:15 dismissal – and they had a playdate here afterwards with Ellie.

Two cute things to mention:

1) Every day I ask N whether he is a "pumpkin pie"or a "snicker pie". And every day he picks one of them. Tonight he was a pumpkin pie.

2) A's pen pal from last year, Kelli Doyle, called yesterday, and they've been chatting. Tonight they Facetimed. A showed Kelli her siblings, her parents (briefly), her dog, the house, the pianos, and more. She even played the piano for her.

Tonight we are watching  A Fish Called Wanda.
