Low point of the day: N falling down the stairs this morning. (Shudder.) It was awful. But he was OK – stopped crying within a minute and every time I touched somewhere on him and asked whether it hurt, he said "no". But I know that he remembers what happened because he told Imogene about it when they got home.

Higher points of the day: Playing with the red ball in the upstairs bathroom with M&A&N when I got home. Seeing the girls give N a shower tonight. Reading books with N tonight, dropping N at school and seeing how excited he was to discover what was planned in the classroom. Homework with the girls.

In the middle: work.
