En Route Home from NY

I am on the train coming home from NY, where I have been for the past 3 days. I went to Book Expo America, which I go to every year. It was a great show and I got TONS of amazing books, met a lot of authors, and reconnected with the book world. It was exhausting, with very long days, but I have an awesome box of books en route home and I can't wait to see them again. 🙂

It was a busy and eventful week on the home front too!

Today was Field Day. I haven't heard about it yet, but I do know that Lafayette was trying to set a world record for the most people simultaenously popping bubble wrap. I will have to hear how it went.

The girls are also working fast and furiously on their book reports, which are videos about the books that they chose. There are other parents overseeing this project, thankfully. 🙂 There have been a number of after-school meetings and there are still many more to come.

Poor little N took a spill down 4 stairs yesterday. It was a bit stressful – Imogene was out walking Lucky and I was on the phone with the kids. All of a sudden I heard a lot of screaming and crying. He cut his lip and has a nasty bruise over his eye. But he seems to be fine and is acing totally normally. Very stressful for everyone involved.

I can't wait to see everyone tonight and tomorrow AM! Daddy did a great job of holding down the fort while I was gone. 🙂

And I am bringing lot of goodies: a bag signed to the girls by RJ Palacio (which is a HUGE deal), a Wimpy Kid bag (orange!), some books for the girls, and some great-looking books for N, including Heads (the latest in the Tails and Dogs series) and a new book from one of our favorite kids' authors, Tom Lichtenheld.

We have a busy weekend – soccer game, two baseball games, a birthday party for a friend of Nate's.

Next stop, Union Station!
