Erev Battle of the Books

This will be a quick post. I am behind tonight due to work, consulting, and a review on my other blog of all five Battle of the Books books. Check it out!

Tomorrow night is the competition. I think the Fictionistas are well-prepared and I will be very proud of them no matter how it turns out. Daddy and I did a lot of quizzing today and I think the girls are ready. A finished book #5 in the nick of time tonight so they are all ready to go. We report to the gym at 5:45 PM tomorrow. I will be judging another team.

In other news, it was a nice day and I worked from home, so I walked to get the girls from school and we did our first Broad Branch Market candy/ice cream run of the year. It was delightful.

Today's observation about A: she lives her life as if she were in a Broadway musical. She can make up a (damn good) song about anything, such as her math homework. Tonight: "There are two CUPS! In a pint. And two PINTS! In a quart. And how many quarts in a gallon? There are FOUR!" She has a great sense of timing and knows all the Broadway tropes. She is very entertaining, and she knows her math!

N is the cutest boy that ever lived. Tonight (well, this isn't so cute) he was jumping all over my bed and the girls naked, including sitting on A's head. Not so good when he is naked. But he's just adorable. Still obsessed with Meet the Letters. We have a new game. I say, "How many kisses do you want?" and he gives me a number between 1 and 10 and I give him that many kisses. I think we both love it.

M is M. Just the best.

We are the luckiest.

Ok, off to bed. It's late (12:14) and I have boot camp and Battle of the Books bookending the day tomorrow. Should be a good but long one!
