April Fool’s Day

Happy April Fool's Day! To celebrate today, the girls were packed some very odd lunches. Both girls got bagels with smiley faces on them, plastic toy grapes in containers, and thermos bottles with jelly beans inside. A had some of Lucky's treats in a baggie, and M's water was dyed green. Both girls got a kick out of it.

This AM, I was making the lunches and N was sitting on the counter keeping me company (he got up kind of early). I was thinking to myself that I had wanted to use some edible eyes that I bought when I was making N's caterpillar cake last summer, but I couldn't seem to find them. What would I use for eyes for the bagels? Just then, N said "choca dips" over and over. Turns out he was saying "chocolate chips". He read my mind! I made the bagels and put red frosting smiley faces on them as well as the chocolate chip eyes, and he thought they were very funny. He has a great sense of humor for a 22 month-old.

He also likes to sing along to songs – "Row Row", "ABC", "Twinkle Twinkle" and tonight, "Jump Up" and "Dreidel", two songs that are on the girls 2nd birthday CD.

Daddy got some very strange calls on his cell phone tonight from someone berating him for not paying for a huge amount of lemons that he ordered. Even weirder – the call # was blocked, so he has NO idea who was on the other end. Apparently they called his cell phone numerous times and seemed to know a lot of information about him. Hmmm.

The girls have jobs! Seriously. Staring tomorrow, they are going to be coaches' assistants on a team of 5 year-old baseball players, coached by our friend Jonathan. He's going to pay them both and they are splitting the responsibilities. So cute.
