Nutcracker Tea and Weekend Report

We have had a busy weekend! I haven't posted since Thursday, so here's what we've been up to…

Friday, M had a playdate after school with Emily, who she hasn't seen much of in a while. I think she really enjoyed seeing her. A and I baked lots of cookies – ginger snaps – for our mother-daughter book club cookie swap yesterday.

Yesterday was our book club meeting and cookie swap/Secret Santa exchange. M got a stuffed animal from Charlotte and A got cupcake-scented nail polish from Katie. We had a good discussion about Wonder – there was lots to cover. Last night, Daddy and I went out to a costume party where we had to dress as a ghost from Christmas Past. I went as Patrick Swayze from Dirty Dancing and Daddy went as a Blockbuster employee.

N had a playdate yesterday with some other kids in the neighborhood. It was nice, except for him pushing each of the other kids at least once and making a few of them cry. That wasn't so fun. Otherwise he has been very sweet all weekend. He can say so many new words, and likes to say "THREE!" after we say "One, Two…".  We have read many, many books this weekend, and, in some very exciting news, we now have a fifth white chair at the kitchen table! He is eating with us now, and he loves it.

Today was Nutcracker and the Nutcracker tea. I sat in the front row – not sure how I got that ticket at $35 – and had an amazing vantage point. Both girls saw me when they were marching and smiled, subtly, which was such a treat. I got to take pictures of the girls at the Willard when they were greeting guests for the tea, which was also fun. Here are some pics:

I have more and will post tomorrow. Here is a photo of the girl's fans today – Kim and Olivia, and Laurie, Aidan and Caleb.
