Monday was N's first day of 5th grade! He said that the week has been going well, he likes his teachers, and he is happy to have Jake and Ayan in his homeroom. It has seemed like a very smooth transition so far. I left town on Monday to bring Grandma Sandy to the OBX so I haven't seen N since the bus on Monday AM! Here is his first day of school photo:

I will be home tomorrow for Back To School Night and will have more to report on CCES.

A seems to be doing OK at NYU, with some ups and downs. She starts classes tomorrow at Stella Adler and things will likely be a lot more intense. We are very proud of her for navigating a huge, huge transition.

The OBX has been lovely this week. Jonathan has made us yummy dinners and we have had relaxing days. I've been working from here, so I've been looking out at the ocean more than being in it, but today I closed the laptop at 4 and went in the ocean with J and Dash. Hobart has been enjoying the sun and the beach, and he finally seems comfortable around Dash. I am glad that Grandma has gotten out of DC for a few days and that we've all been together for a few days. Rachel has been here too which is an added treat!
