98/98/95

Today was N's 15-month checkup. He did great! No issues at all and he is right on track, if not a little ahead. His percentiles? 98th height, 98th weight, 95th head circumference. He's basically measuring as a 21 month old. He was so good at his checkup and didn't even cry when he got two shots. What a sweet boy. And he has a new word: "baby". He says it when he looks at himself in the mirror!

Daddy was home until mid-day today, and then when N went down for his nap, he went to work. Then when N woke up, he was very sad that Daddy was gone. He cried for "Dada" until Daddy called on the phone and calmed him down.

Part of A's homework tongiht was writing 5 sentences with homophone pairs in them. Here are her sentences:

1. Meet me at the grocery store to get some meat for dinner.

2. My canoe always creaks when I am paddling on the creek.

3. The steel sculpture is so nice I wanted to steal it.

4. After I beat the other team their faces were beet red.

5. I took a peek at the peak of the mountains?

Here is a note we got today from A's teacher:

In
math we are reviewing what we've been learning so far, which is place
value, rounding, and addition/subtraction. Later this week we'll include
estimation with +/–. Next week we'll start centers for more review,
and the students won't have a test on all of this until next Friday.
They finished science with me last week and will be starting S.S. this
week with Mr. C. A few kids will be retaking the science test, and I'll
talk to those kids tomorrow about that.
This Wednesday we are going to Politics and Prose again. We are also going next Wednesday
It's unusual to have so many trips so close together! Anyone is welcome
to walk over there with us and join us for the author's talk. We leave
at 9:50 and we're back anywhere between 11:45-12.
Please let Jen know if you want to come either week. In last week's
Friday folder you should have seen two order forms for the two trips
we're taking. That's about it! Have a great week!

Tonight's dinner: asparagus bacon soup (homemade).
