The Long Weekend By The Numbers

I don't have any good photos to share (!) so this is going to be a By the Numbers post.

Days since I was last in my office: 4. Glorious. Days.

Times swimming: 2 (once at Grampy's on Thursday and once today at Bethesda Pool)

Movies seen: 2 – 20 Feet From Stardom and Pitch Perfect

Bottles drank by N: 16 (plus 2 bonus bottles before bed on Friday and Saturday)

Trips to the vet for Lucky: 0

Trips that Lucky should have taken to the vet: 1, for a shot

Grocery trips: 1

New desserts tried: 1 – orange vanilla floats

Breakfasts made by Daddy: 2 – waffles and French toast

Yummy dinners at home: 2, including hamburgers made by Daddy tonight

Books finished by the girls:  2 – Pi in the Sky (M), You Wouldn't Want to Be At The Boston Tea Party (both girls)

Books started: 3 – Are You There God, It's Me Margaret (A) and Red Snow (part of an American history diary series required by Lafayette) (M) and Little Women (reading with Daddy

New toys acquired by N: a spelling horsey toy that he already loves, and a little Leapfrog house that he also quite enjoys

New words for N: ba, da, ca (not so new, not really words)

Rooms cleaned: 2 – girls' room and my bathroom – yay!

Stuff planted: pumpkins, beets and wildflowers

Troubling brown patches on the grass: too many to count

Pencils sharpened and markers thrown away as part of Art Cart Cleanout: too many to count

Front flips done by girls off the diving board: many! wow!

Number of times Daddy overheard random people at the Bethesda pool say, "I just saw Maddie and Alexa!": 2

Thank-you notes the girls owe: 3

Number of times I have reminded the girls to write said thank-you notes: countless

Haircuts: 2 – Daddy and N, separately (Whose hair is shorter? N's, by a lot)

Tired parents: 2
