Grateful

Today during lunch I went to run an errand: buying some stuff for M's Halloween costume. The last time I went to the place where I went today was last December, on a gloomy, rainy day. I remember that day well – it was the day I got a call from the geneticist with the preliminary results from N's CVS test. I remember going to my car and sitting in the parking lot and calling the geneticist back. She told me then that N's test results looked good, that there was a low likelihood that he had any of a range of diseases or abnormalities. I thought about that day when I was there today, and am so grateful that we have this beautiful, healthy baby boy who has already brought so much joy to our lives. I couldn't have imagined then how special this little boy inside me would turn out to be.

In other news… the girls are caught up on their reading and piano practicing, and they had standardized testing at school today and yesterday that they said went well.

We are gearing up for a CRAZY weekend. On tap:

  • Nutcracker rehearsal both days
  • Baseball game (M will miss baseball practice because of rehearsal)
  • Sunday School
  • Ballet
  • Book club
  • Consigment sale (there are HUNDREDS of tagged clothes and toys in the basement that I am going to drop off tomorrow)
  • Party to celebrate some friends' wedding
  • Concert on Sunday night
  • Daddy's cousin in town

I have no idea how we are going to get to everything, on time, with the proper uniforms and accessories. Sigh.
