We had a busy afternoon today. I picked the girls up from school and took them to the dentist. I noticed that M seemed a little glum (her word). I asked her what was bothering her – school? her teacher? friends? me? A? Daddy? N? She said no to all of that – said she didn't know. Well, Dr. Dana noticed it too, and asked why M was in a bad mood. She then tried cheering up M by doing the following:

• using her water squirter (for mouths) to squirt the window behind M
• dancing behind A, in unison with A, while A was in the dentist's chair. Hard to describe, but it was hysterical. They were doing the same dance for like 2 minutes.
• using her water squirter to squirt A repeatedly. A was drenched when we left.
• using her water squirter to squirt one of the hygienists, who got in the way when A ducked.

It was a very funny visit. Both girls said that it was the best dentist's appointment ever. (Though we still haven't gotten to the bottom of what is bothering M. Maybe it's the transition to school and the more regimented schedule. She LOVES school and homework so it isn't just that they are back in school.)

We have followups – A needs to get her frenulum clipped to allow her front teeth to come in, and M needs 4 teeth pulled. Sigh.

Then we went to ballet. A nice 14 year-old ballerina with lots of experience doing buns did M&A's buns before class. Here is a picture:

It was the first class and both girls seemed to like the teacher fine. No one was very vocal about the class. They are wearing new tights that can be feeted or footless, and there have been no complaints, which is a big improvement over last year. Both girls are also in new leotards and ballet slippers.

And that was our Tuesday! Oh – something I forgot – when I picked up the girls, M came with me to see A's trailer. It was so cute to see A show M her classroom, which M hadn't seen before. I am so bummed that the girls are so far apart from each other during the day. They only see each other at recess and lunch. We also introduced M to A's teacher.

Meanwhile, HOW CUTE IS THIS???????? OMG!!!!!!!!
