Captain’s Nursery

The Captain's nursery (perhaps we should call it The Bridge, which is the place where a ship's captain drives the boat from) isn't quite finished, but we're getting there. I will share pictures once it looks more complete (we're still trying to get rid of a bookshelf which is taking up a lot of space, and there are assorted other items that need to find a new home). In the meantime, here is a preview of what will be in the nursery. The walls are green and the furniture is white.

This is the new crib:

Here is our crib bedding pattern:

Cute, huh?

I also just found wall decals that match the crib bedding, which will make for a fun project with the girls one upcoming weekend. Only $20! And they are pretty large once they are all put together. Here they are:

I found a great glider on Craigslist last fall with a green gingham pattern, in perfect shape. It looks a bit like this (but this isn't the one I bought):

I also found knobs that match our crib bedding, which we will put on the dresser that we're using in the room. It's Dan's old dresser from growing up, which Sarah and Rachel helped us paint 8 years ago and which we used in the girls' room until they outgrew it. It currently has knobs that match their old crib pattern, but the new knobs will spruce it up. Here are the knobs, which I found on Etsy:

And also on Etsy, I found these really cute letters which we will mount on the wall spelling out the Captain's name. The woman who makes them is customizing them for our crib bedding pattern – earthy tones, owls, trees, etc. Which letters did I order? How many? That's a surprise! All I will say is: no Zs, Qs or Ks.

Not bad, huh? Just need to clear out the last stuff and we'll be almost done.
