Heroes Wax Museum

Today was the girls' Heroes Wax Museum. It was adorable. Three classes from the second grade gathered in the cafetorium and each kid stood in place (in costume). Visitors came up to the wax figures and pushed a green button on their costumes, and then the kids recited their speech about their hero and a pivotal moment in their lives. Some of the heroes were: Ruby Bridges (A), Katherine Dunham (M), Clara Barton, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Dred Scott, Helen Keller, and lots of others that I either never got to or didn't recognize. The kids all did great – it was very cute. And then afterwards, they sang songs about perseverence and overcoming obstacles – I Will Fight For My Right to be Free, Climb Ev'ry Mountain, You'll Never Walk Alone, etc.

Here are some pictures and videos from the wax museum. Also, at the end of this post, I had to include a VERY cute essay that M wrote about what she would do with $100.
