Helper of the Day

I forgot to write that M was "Helper of the Day" yesterday. That means she helps with chores around the classroom all day. She also brings in something that matters to her that she can share with the class. She brought her amber star necklace from Russia, which is one of her absolute favorite things.

Today was a nice free afternoon. When I got home from work the girls had already done some of their homework, which is always a nice treat.

M has to memorize this poem for school this week:

Thirty days hath September,

April, June and November

All the rest have thirty-one

Except for February alone

Which has four and twenty-four

Til leap year brings one day more.

She has it memorized!

M and A are such great students. Their teachers are so lucky to have them. Love M’s poem.
Lots of love,

I like the version I learned better:
All except February alone,
Which has twenty-eight and fine
And each leap year twenty-nine.
