The Weekend By The Numbers

Busy weekend!

Here goes…

Signs that spring fever has hit: Several! I did the following today – planted pansies, onions, and assorted other flowers; hung pansy hanging plants; gave Allie a bath; vaccuumed my car and scrubbed the floor mats; hosed down the picnic table on the patio.

% of birthday invitations that have been written out – 5

Webkinz games played this weekend: too many

Books read: not enough

Bike rides taken by M&A: 2, at the playground today with Daddy, Addie and Frank

Day we changed the calendar from February: today! Ugh. We completely missed March. (This is the calendar with the magnets that you put on different days, like "Rainy Day", "No School", "Play With Friends", etc.)

Days until M&A's birthday: 28 (gulp!)

Spring clothes bought yesterday: 2 shorts, 2 capri pants, 1 pair sunglasses, 4 bathing suits, 2 tops, 1 skirt, and many dresses.

Number of teenybopper songs on the girls' upcoming birthday CD: 15 (as of today)

Here are some pics of the pansies, as well as the girls on the Eurobobbles yesterday. All are cell phone pics, which is why quality isn't better.

Here also is a summary of what the girls did in Sunday School today, according to their teacher:

Dear Parents,

Today was all about Passover…  Passover music and songs, Passover stories and books, and a Passover "seder".

In music we sang "Pharaoh, Pharaoh", "Mah Nishtanah", "Avadim Hayinu", "Dayenu" and a few others, as well.  I'll bet your kids can sing some of them for you.

In class we reviewed the Pesach story and why we retell it each year.  We talked about what we would take from our home if we had to leave in a hurry like the Jews in Egypt.

During our model seder the children were able to become familiar with the order of this special meal and all the blessings we say, as well.  We reviewed the meanings of the ceremonial foods, answered the Four Questions as we leaned on our hand-sewn pillows and even hunted for the afikomen.  Many of the children tasted and even liked the maror!  All of the haroset was eaten up and judging by the matzah crumbs on the floor, lots of matzah, too.

This is a wonderful blog. I loved the photos and the descriptions of what the children did in Sunday school. It’s a reminder of what my children did and learned when they were little. M and A must be very excited about their upcoming birthdays. I wish them wonderful, happy birthdays.
Love,
Aunt Ann
