Piano Lesson

Thank you to those who left comments about Allie. I am taking her for an ultrasound tomorrow so we will know more then. In the meantime, she is acting relatively normal (then again, what is normal for Allie??), which makes me just a little less sad.

Grandma Sandy wrote this report today of yesterday's piano/singing lessons:

Alexa got an extra piece of gum because she played perfectly the piece she worked on the week before.  The song she is singing (lots of good reading skills going on here) is "People Will Say We're in Love."  Then she  read through on the piano "Ode to Joy," which, of course, as soon as she realized what the piece was–she performed in a few seconds.  I do try to insist that when the music  says left hand (stems down) she play it that way.

Maddie is singing "So Long, Farewell" from The Sound of Music.  Not easy, since there's aufweiderzehn and adieu, but. as expected, she breezily read/sang through it, without missing a beat.  Ask her, also, to play the simple piano piece, marked with the musical paper clip.

The sun streaming through the window gives everyone lots of added energy.

Love,

Mom/Sandy

Grandma's delinquent daughter isn't always that good about asking the girls to show what they've learned. I will try to remember tomorrow.

Meanwhile, M came home today with some AMAZING artwork. I will take photos of some of the pieces that are too large to scan, and will scan the others.

You must be so very proud of both Maddie and Alexa with their piano accomplishments. Of course they are so very bright, and they have a wonderful teacher — Grandma Sandy. Lucky girls.
Love,
Aunt Ann
