A had a playdate today with a sweet girl from her class named Agnes. It sounds like the playdate went well. M didn't want to play with them, so she took a rest instead because she was "so incredibly tired". While it would have been nice if they had all three played together, it's fine if some girls are friends with A and some with M.

Some of the things the girls learned this week: polygons, pronouns, acrostics, realism vs fantasy. First grade! Yay DC schools!

American Idol fever is spreading through the house.

The girls' birthday party entertainment has been reserved – dance party. Now I am looking at invitations. NO ONE does paper invitations anymore, which I think is sad. I refuse to resort to an evite. How would I put it in the photo album?

I am sad because I am heading out of town this weekend – going to SXSW for the first time. I am excited for the conference but sad to be gone for three nights. I leave on Saturday afternoon.
