Money Money Money Money… MONEY

[Sorry for the absence. I fell asleep without posting the last two nights.]

The girls, and M in particular, are very interested in money. M always wants to know how much things cost, etc. Here are some recent anecdotes:

  • I took the girls grocery shopping today. In line, A said, "This is a lot of stuff. I am sorry that you have to pay for all of this." Then when we got home, M said, "How much did you spend on all of that food? I want to know whether it was more or less than the money I have saved up." I said "$132". She was very quiet after that.
  • Driving to a friend's last night, we passed a large house. A said, "I like that house. Someday, when I am older, I will buy a house like that." M said, "A, that house costs a lot of money. Like A FEW THOUSAND DOLLARS." A said, "That's OK, I will make the money at tooth fairy camp."
  • A always says that when she is older, she will help me by paying for things for me.
  • M is very interested in how much we pay Imogene. We keep telling her that it is private information and that she isn't to ask or talk about it.
  • M has also gotten interested in couponing and is always pointing out coupons to me on boxes, etc. She said, "This coupon for Cheez-Its is for $1, but how much ARE Cheez-Its? Will we really save any money?"

We were supposed to host a sleepover here tonight, but it fell through. Now the girls are at a sleepover at another friend's house. It's so quiet in the house. Daddy and I went to dinner at Ardeo and are going to watch Inception now.

Tomorrow M has a playdate with a boy (!) in her class. She is not looking forward to it.

Yay for three-day weekends.
