The Weekend By The Numbers

We have a game we like to play when the girls are in the bath. We've played it for years. It's called "What's Your Favorite?" and it consists of my asking the girls a series of questions like "What do you like better, cake or ice cream? Math or reading? Your music teacher or your art teacher?" etc. Today, I asked them to ask ME questions, rather than my asking them questions. Their questions were great. "Would you rather go to Trader Joe's or Crate and Barrel? Would you rather go to Safeway or buy clothes for us? Do you like Halloween or Valentine's Day better? Would you rather eat a caramel or a gumdrop?"

Loved the questions.

This weekend, the house turned into a Valentine-making sweatshop. At one point, A said, "All we do is WORK ON VALENTINES." (Not true.) But they are ALL done. Finally!

So, by the numbers:

Valentines made: about 60

Highlight of my weekend: the hour spent at Lafayette playground with the girls this afternoon, when they showed me around and ran hand-in-hand around the track.

Movies watched: 2 – Eloise and Dr. Dolittle

Books read: Um, none. (See Valentine making, above)

Donuts consumed: a lot. We got a dozen yesterday and there were several leftover after the visit to Melanie's.

Fondue dates: 1, with the Campers and Batson girls today

Most gorgeous American Idol audition city: San Francisco

Girl Scout cookies delivered: around 40

Small red dogs bathed: 1

Months since said small red dog's last bath: no one can remember

Happy eve of Valentine's Day!
