100th Day of School

Today is the 100th day of school. To celebrate, the kids are compiling bags of 100 edible things – at least I think they are, as I sent in a bag of Valentine conversation hearts iwth M yesterday. Also, M brought in a bag of "100 of something" (little fuse beads) and A had to draw 100 of the same thing in a grid. She drew hearts and colored them all in red.

I was thinking about when the girls were in nursery school and they also had a 100th day of school, and had to bring in 100 of something. I think we did fuse beads back then too. I remember it was such a production, counting to 100. I put out muffin tins so that they could count 10 at a time. It took a looong time. Last night, M counted out the beads in about 3 minutes.

Both classes also have a field trip to Politics and Prose today to hear an author read from a book. I am not sure if they went at the same time, but I think they did. M forgot gloves so I went home and got them and dropped them off for her, and then left my keys at home. One of those mornings.

Here is a picture of the girls entering school today:

100day

Oh, I suggested yesterday that the girls switch jackets to play a trick on us. It worked! They put on each other's jackets this morning and Daddy was TOTALLY confused. Even when I told him what the trick was, he was convinced that M was A and A was M.

I am off to SF this afternoon for 2 nights. Back on Thursday.
