Most days, I get a call from the girls around 3:20 PM on Imogene's phone. Here's what I learned on the call today:
In A's class they:
- did some math, which was really fun
- read some books, which was really fun
- played a penny game, where the person with the most pennies at the end won
- drew pictures
- went to the baseball field for recess as their playground is being renovated
In addition, A was on the playground at recess, and she was with Ian and a friend of Ian's. Ian's friend pushed Ian into A, and he ended up bumping her in the face. M took her to the nurse (AW!) and she got some ice. She says it still hurts and that she is not up for a playdate at Natalie's today. But she sounded happy and Imogene said you can't see where she hurt herself.
From M, I learned that she had music today (A didn't and is jealous), where they sang "America" and "This Land is Your Land", as well as a Lafayette song set to the tune of "America". I asked her who she hung out with today, and she said A. Of course, she only saw A at recess, so not sure what that's about! I hope she's making friends in her class.
In other exciting news, the zipper on M's new lunchbox broke off yesterday after two uses. We ordered a new one and it's on its way. Today she used A's ballerina lunchbox from the last few years and she seemed happy to do so. She said, "Can I use the strap, A?" I said, "M, it's your lunchbox today to use as you'd like." A said, "Well you have to ask me first before you do anything." I said, "No, she doesn't." Then M said, "I am going to break the zipper off!" And as A started to protest, she said, "No, I'm kidding!"
During a lunchtime stroll today to Pier 1, I picked up these treasures (in "M" and "A") to put under their pillows tonight:
I really enjoyed learning about M and A and their experiences in school today. It was sweet of M to take care of sister A when she was injured. They really are close and love each other. (Not all twins are as close, as I’m sure you know.)
Love,
Aunt Ann
