Dutch Wonderland, Daddy’s Return and Team One

Lots to report today. Daddy has returned from his trip, I took the girls to Dutch Wonderland yesterday, and we checked out the girls' new classrooms today.

Daddy came back early this morning. We are happy to have him home!

Dutch Wonderland – lots of fun. We left early yesterday morning (out the door by 8) and were there around 10:30. It was crowded when we got there, but once we were inside, it was bearable. The girls had a great time. Most of the rides were OK for them – we didn't do the rollercoasters or the Viking Ship-thing or bumper cars or a few others, but we did do the swings and Turtle Whirl and funhouse and gondola and merry go round and a few others.

Here's what the girls ate yesterday:

Froot Loops, pizza, pink lemonade, cotton candy, popcorn, Italian Ice, water, and Chicken McNuggets. Impressive!

A few funny things:

M kept wanting to play the carnival games, at $2 a pop. I let them play one, after which of course they were awarded the smallest stuffed animal. Then they wanted to keep playing. I said no. M said, "Two dollars isn't that much for someone who has A HUNDRED dollars!"

A asked me in the middle of the day if God was a man or a woman. I said, "What do YOU think?" (Clever, huh?) She said, "I think God is half man and half woman."

We were home by about 8 PM. We would have been home earlier, but we stopped at the Skechers outlet, where I did something I always swore I wouldn't do. I bought the girls shoes that light up when they walk:

Today we ran some errands – haircuts for girls, new leotards and ballet slippers, and shoe shopping at Stride Rite. Also, exciting news… the girls decided they wanted new lunchboxes this year. A's came a few days ago, but M's hadn't come. I called Fedex to track it and they said it would be a few more days, but it arrived today, just in the nick of time!

When A's came, she said, "This is even more beautiful than I thought it would be." Here it is:

M's came today. We love it! A was depressed because she likes it better than hers! How cute is this?

Tomorrow I will write about the girls' new classrooms, which we snuck in and saw today.

In the meantime, here are some photos from Dutch Wonderland:

Thank you for the wonderful photos at Dutch Wonderland. M and A seem to have had a marvelous time, and they certainly did a lot of things there. They both have cute lunch boxes and may want to trade once in a while.
It’s great that daddy is back and all’s well. Girls, enjoy your new classrooms.
Love,
Aunt Ann
