Today was the girls' field trip to Discovery Theater at the Smithsonian to hear an African-American storyteller. Apparently, she was "the best storyteller I have ever heard," according to A.
They have done their school projects on African-Americansl. A picked Jackie Joyner-Kersee, because she won a lot of Olympic medals. M picked Serena Williams.
Here's what they say:
A: Jackie is a jumper and a runner. She went to 4 Olympics. She won six medals and set two world records. She is a very good jumper and runner.
M: Serena is the #1 women tennis player. She has a sister Venus who also plays tennis. They have played each other 23 times.
So cute.
Love the African Americans that M and A picked. Good choices. It must have been hard to choose because there are so many great African Americans. M and A know exactly what made these women so outstanding. Great blog.
Love,
Aunt Ann
