I have a new fun game I like to play with Imogene. It's called: "Let's Find Out How Much Of M&A's Lunch Came Back Home In The Lunchbox."
Yesterday I packed in each lunchbox:
-
a mini bagel with cream cheese
-
a banana
-
a small package of goldfish crackers
-
pudding for M and applesauce for A
-
a hardboiled egg
-
a juice box
-
a note from Mommy
Here's what came back: a half of a bagel in each lunchbox, both hardboiled eggs, the pudding and the applesauce, the note from Mommy.
Today I packed:
-
a small container of tortellini
-
the pudding and applesauce again
-
a pack of fig newtowns
-
a small bag of veggie chips
-
a tootsie roll for A and a lollipop for M from the parade candy
-
water
-
a note from Mommy
Here's what came back: half of M's tortellini and a few of A's tortellini, the pudding and applesauce, one pack of fig newtons (according to M, they split one), the tootsie roll and the lollipop, and A's water. I am wondering where the note from Mommy went.
Clearly the applesauce and pudding were not a hit. Tomorrow, the girls will lunch on: mini-bagels with jelly (no peanut butter allowed), small bags of Pirate's Boobies (as M calls them), different candy, cat cookies, apple slices, and carrots.
Any chance I am paralyzing them with too many options? The Jewish mother in me is clearly coming out.
Some funny comments from M of late:
-
(after waking up at 1 AM to go to the batthroom) "I think I need to go double pee pee."
-
"Mommy, it's a good thing that you have those Michael Jackson CDs, because you can still hear his music, even though he died."
Tonight we made rice crispy treats – yum.
Day 2 at camp went very well. They are really enjoying it. Today they planted beans, which will sprout over the course of the session.
Thank you to Buppie for picking up Imogene and the girls at camp and giving them a piano lesson after camp.
I’m sure that M and A are having a great time at camp. Mommy, you are packing a wonderful lunch for those lucky girls. Give the girls my love.
Love,
Aunt Ann
