The girls celebrated Halloween last night with friends and spent today working on essays and applications.

So, Halloween was all Nate's today.

He had a pretty mellow day, and then we trick or treated on our street early and headed over to Ayan's neighborhood to have a quick slice of pizza and head out to trick or treat there. The houses there were decorated very well – not scary, but festive and fun – and Nate got a ton of candy. There weren't that many kids out, but there were lots of adults in front of houses, with fire pits and glasses of wine, and it all felt very neighborhood-y. Thankfully Monica and Ayan were on the same page as N and me in terms of how long we wanted to stay out and when to head home. We have found our Halloween spirit animals.
