Highlights from our Thanksgiving 2008:
This morning Daddy and the girls watched the Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV while I stupidly ran the Turkey Chase 10K in Bethesda without having run for a few weeks. I spent the rest of today limping and wincing from the assault on my knees.
After the race, I came home and started the cooking for today: mashed potatoes, roasted broccoli, apple pie, and corn casserole. Daddy also made pumpkin muffins with the girls.
Andrew and Asher came over – second time today I had seen them – for lunch. It was a treat to see them and have have them over. We also watched a dog show on TV and just hung out at home, cooking and playing.
At 5:30 we went to Buppie's house to celebrate Thanksgiving with her and Aunt Tequila. We had a lovely dinner with way too much food. Buppie made me a birthday cake, which was very sweet of her. After dinner the girls danced while Buppie played the piano, such songs as "This Land Is Your Land", "She'll Be Coming Round The Mountain," "You're A Grand Old Flag", and a bunch of Jewish songs from school.
If I weren't so tired I could write more, and write better.
