Sick Of Sharing Everything

Yesterday the girls were complaining that they didn’t want to share everything. Daddy said they could have some things that were just for them individually, that they didn’t have to share. Then A asked if I could buy her something that she didn’t have to share with M, and M asked if I could buy her something that she didn’t have to share with A. I said OK. So today, I got them very different treats. A has been playing doctor a lot lately, and I bought her a little doctor set, with a stethoscope, ear scope thing, thermometer, knee-tapper, blood-pressure taker, band aid, medicine, and a thing that you press like a needle for a shot. She was excited and played with it a lot tonight. (M played with it too, but I didn’t want to point that out!). I wanted to get M something very different, so I got her a little purse with a dog inside. It’s now on her bed.

M has been talking a lot about having bad dreams and how she’s afraid of scary things, like shots and someone coming and taking Baby and Blankie away. We had a talk tonight about dreams and talking in her sleep and I told her that many people have bad dreams. We also talked about strangers and that we will protect her from people coming into the house.

M was the Line Leader at school, which she loves being (I think that person goes first when they leave the room, etc.) A was the Bathroom Patrol, which she doesn’t love (that person makes sure everyone flushes and washes their hands). M does not like being the Book Helper, who has to put books away, some of which are large and she doesn’t know where they go.

I love this blog. M and A are so individualistic, which is great. They will always be each other’s best friend — no matter what. Such lucky girls to have each other.

This was an inspired gift by Mommy. Having had three “exams” by A in the past few days alone, I can personally attest to how much she loves being a doctor. She takes blood pressure, looks in your ears and mouth (for cavities and “loose teeth” — this is a combined dental/medical appointment!), and then is very gentle about giving shots, followed by an immediate bandaid. She also asks lots of questions, and then makes little marks with a pen on a “chart” after each. It’s a lengthy process, but adorable!
