We’ve had a busy day today. This morning the girls had drama class, and got to hang out with their friend Charlotte. Then we had a busy Bethesda day with their classmate Sydney. We met Sydney, her mom and her baby brother at a restaurant for lunch. Then we went to paint-your-own pottery. M painted a flower shaped box and A painted a princess who looks a lot like Sleeping Beauty. We’ll be able to pick up the pottery next weekend after it has been fired and glazed.
The weather is grey and rainy. We’re now inside watching a little Franklin.
There has been a lot of whining and fussing today, but we’ve been talking about how unpleasant it is. I have a song I sing to the girls to the tune of "I’ve Got An Old Mule And Her Name Is Sal, 18 Miles On The Erie Canal". When the girls are being good, I sing, "I have a cutie and her name is cute, she’s my little cutie-cutie-cute-cute." When the girls are being fussy, I sing, "I have a fussy and her name is fuss, she’s my little fussy-fussy-fuss-fuss." We’ve decided that while we like the "Cute" version, because it means the girls are being very good, the "Fuss" version is funnier.
Tonight I am going to a bar mitzvah reception for the son of a friend of mine, and Buppie is coming to babysit. I am headed downtown with Christina and Mikey, who are excited to see the girls.
We all have our “good” and “not-so-good” days. The songs you sing to M and A are adorable. Where do you get all of your patience?
Love,
Aunt Ann
