Today we carved two pumpkins – A’s orange pumpkin and M’s green pumpkin. They turned out great – photos at the end of the post. We also roasted pumpkin seeds, thanks to Christina’s recipe and instructions. The girls had a lot of fun with the carving – helped us clean out the pumpkins, designed the faces, etc.
This afternoon we saw a play – "Busytown", based on Richard Scarry’s book What Do People Do All Day?. It wasn’t exactly a scintillating piece of drama, but the girls loved it. They were pretty much enthralled from the opening scene. Then they went to a Halloween party at our friend CJ’s. I missed it because I was waiting in Bethesda for AAA to come and jumpstart my car. Dead battery, due either to natural battery life or to driver error, which is possible due to a key mishap before the show. I made it home though, and the girls came home in great excitement over their goody bags, which were filled with candy and toys.
We have a very busy week ahead of us, culminating in Darrah and Jason’s wedding on Saturday. We are all very excited.
Here are the photos of the girls and the pumpkins. The girls are pointing to their respective pumpkins. I should also note that the closeups of the pumpkins were taken by the girls.
Thanks for the shout out. Love the pictures. The girls are adorable as always. Your pumpkins are soo much better than the ones that we did.
I love the green pumpkin and the girls look adorable in those photos!!
simply adorable!!
I love the photos of M and A with their pumpkins. The carvings are beautiful, and I can see how much the girls love the pumpkins, and each other. I had never seen a green pumpkin before. Thanks for the wonderful pictures.
Love,
Aunt Ann
