It is our last day at the beach, and I wanted to capture some memories of the beach before we get home and the hubbub of re-entry pushes them further into my mind, since I haven’t been posting this week. I’m sure Daddy will have some to add.
- M loving her new flower tankini and A wearing any bathing suit with a skirt because it looks like "a tutu dress."
- M filling up her pail with water at the beach by herself.
- The girls holding the kite all by themselves ("With two hands!" I tell them.)
- M riding her scooter so well and running so fast all over the grounds of the lighthouse yesterday.
- The girls laughing hysterically at the game "Old Maid" whenever the Old Maid card comes up. Also, them telling me that the "Fat Lady" card (it’s a circus-themed game) isn’t nice and that we should call her "Big Lady".
- A doing ballet all over the place, including yesterday when she wore a towel around her as a tutu and carried a flashlight as a stand-in for the Nutcracker.
- A sleeping through the night without pull-ups all week and not having an accident!
- The endless need for new band-aids.
- Enormous bubbles on the deck.
- The girls eating at the tall counter chairs and saying that they are lifeguards.
- The girls jumping in the pool, pretending to be dolphins, as I pretend that I am a lifeguard discovering them with my binoculars.
- A’s amazing self-portraits on the new travel doodlers. ("This is me when I was two.")
- Yes, the fighting – "I never get to use the purple doodler!" "I wanted to go first!" "She hit me!" "She said I’m not nice!"
- After-dinner silliness.
- A comforting Allie after Daddy "reprimanded" her for pooping in the house. (Ssshhh, don’t tell the rental company. Pets not welcome in this house.)
- I have had a cold and haven’t been feeling well. A gave me her blanket yesterday so that I could feel better.
- The girls waking up on their own in the morning and coming upstairs, rather than calling us to get them, as they are doing… RIGHT NOW! Here they are!
- M being so helpful – unpacking, putting away clothes.
- Just being the two cutest girls in the world.
Daddy – comment? More to add?
