Trading Places

Tonight, we played a new variation on the Jumping on the Bed game. Instead of me telling the girls what to do ("If you went to ballet today, then jump up and down…"), the girls told me what to do. The commands were very interesting.

"If you wore a skirt today, clap your hands." (I did.)

"If you wore tights today, clap your hands." (I did.)

"If you wore a green sweater today, jump up and down." (I did.)

"If you wiped your nose with a tissue today, fall backwards." (I didn’t.)

"If you told me [M] a story today, then stomp your feet. " (I did.)

"If you walked Allie and she pooped and peed, turn around." (I did.)

"If you saw your friend Sarah today, clap your hands." (I didn’t.)

"If you saw your friend Amy today, clap your hands." (I didn’t.)

"If you saw your friend… the one who is Aliya’s mommy?… yeah, Tuvana, then clap your hands." (I did – yesterday.)

"If you turned on the light at work, then jump up and down." (I did.)

"If you read a few books today, then fall backwards." (I kind of did.)

I think it’s pretty cute that they came up with those all by themselves. Of course, A is at the tail end (hopefully) of a 45-minute tantrum right now, which isn’t as cute.

In other news, the sleeping bags I bought for the trip to NY arrived today, the day after we returned home from NY. M’s has a circus theme and A’s has ponies. M calls hers a "bean bag."

Finally, a funny comment from M a few days ago. I asked her not to order me around so much – "Mommy, get me a napkin!" "Go get more juice!" etc. – and she said, "I’m ordering you for pizza!"

M and A’s games are so creative. Your girls are so clever and so
adorable — like their mother was at their age.
