Bedtime Notes

Friday. This morning, when she woke up, M said to me, "I want a lot of kisses this morning." Then she said, "This is my purple blanket. It can build its own plane and fly it." I asked her, "Just like who?" And she said, "Uncle Jon!"

Here are the notes I left for the girls when I was gone.

A – Tuesday night: "Hello A! How is Izzard? Did he have lettuce for breakfast? I miss you so much. Did you dance today? I can’t wait until your ballet slippers come. You are the cutest! I loved when you turned the toober into glasses. What book did you pick for tonight? I love you! Mommy"

A – Wednesday night: "A-boo! I am coming home tonight. I will give you a smooch when I get home. Did you have a good day? I am staying home tomorrow. Did you need mittens today? Say hi to piggy and bunny. Love, Mommy!"

M – Tuesday night: "Hi M – I miss you! Are you wearing the chicks pajamas? I bet you look so cute. (‘Stick your blanket under your belly…’). You are my beautiful Baby A. You have such a great smile. What books are you reading tonight? I love you! Mommy."

M – Wednesday night: "M – I am coming home tonight! I will give you a kiss when I get in, and then I am home on Thursday! I hope you had a great day at school. What did Ale do with Ribbit? Which PJs are you wearing? I love you! Love, Mommy."

Tonight, in preparation for our upcoming trip to NY, we read Subway (thank you Aunt Darrah!) and Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale. (Both are set in NYC).

Unfortunately, I leave tomorrow for a few nights in Detroit. 🙁
