Hobart got another A today. Here is his report card:
Practiced Let's Go and Wait throughout the day and he did great as usual in terms of walking; he has improved with Wait by the door when told the first time. He isn't as hesitant with doing the command!
Practiced Place on a cot; he was able to stay on the cot while I walked across the training room and back to him. He doesn't seem fond of the toys so I didn't use them as a distraction. I used treats instead and he did great with staying on the cot until told the release command "Let's Go".
Practiced Come command with treats, he did great as usual and didn't struggle with coming back to me when I called his name!
Practiced Down/Down Stay without hand signals; he did the command a lot quicker today when told! He was also able to maintain Down Stay as I walked away from him and behind one of the curtains in the training room. He was also able to stay in position when I threw treats near him and didn't attempt to lunge for them.
Practiced Sit without hand signals; he did great but started to go into Down position at times so I mixed up the order of the commands a little bit to keep him from automatically doing that.
