It has been a two day celebration of the girls' 17th birthday!
Yesterday, they woke up to the customary breakfast in bed. Dad made pancakes in the shape of "1 7" and served them on a tray, with fresh coffee/hot chocolate. Then the girls had school like usual. After school they saw Grandma Sandy and Imogene and then we opened presents when Dad came home. Then we had a very nice dinner at Fiola Mare. It was late but delicious and we had a lot of fun. The girls took a gazillion pictures.
Today M spent the day running errands with Phoebe and A went to the lacrosse game at SSAS. (Sidwell won!) Tonight A had dinner at Charlotte's – her birthday dinner with friends – and M went out to dinner with her friends at Raku and the girls are sleeping over tonight. So it has been a lot of social activity with friends.
Also, today was "transition from winter to spring" day. That meant: planting impatiens in the back, weeding the herb garden and planting herbs, cleaning out the garage, putting away the heat lamps and solo stove and getting out some of the pool stuff.
Also we had a family over today who is interested in adopting Maggie. We love her so much but think this might be a good setup for her. They have a sweet dog who likes to play and they thin Maggie is adorable. They know about all her quirks. So we'll see. The mom brought a toy over for Maggie which she LOVES so that's a good sign!
Ok here are a bunch of pics.
