Tonight was M's Fall Sports Banquet. Her terrible volleyball coaches inexplicably did not recognize her with the Coaches' Award, which was a travesty. All in all, other than the ample potluck dinner, it wasn't a very fulfilling night. The good news is that climbing started today, which is M's favorite sport. So that's good.
We had N's parent-teacher conference with Mrs. Fye today, who had very good things to report about his progress. He is writing well, including details and drawing conclusions. He's reading beyond a third grade level. He is a kind student who gets along with everyone and is helpful to the teacher. He is good at understanding and recognizing different personalities and how to relate to them. Yay Nate! Great transition to a new school and new teacher and new friends.
N has been very actively cataloging all of his crayons and oil pastels, and deciding which he likes best. Favorite and highly sought-after crayons go to school in a ziploc bag. Tonight he auctioned off this compendium of favorite colors. I won it – $3.
