I am back from 3 nights in San Francisco. I was there for work but unfortunately it took me over a weekend. It was a grueling few days and I am very glad to be home. It also made me excited for our upcoming trip to LA/SF over Christmas break. My hotel was right near the Museum of Ice Cream where M has been excited to go.
The kids had very busy days while I was away. A had Friday off and went to the Sidwell soccer game, then to a sleepover at her friend Rashi's (which she said was the high point of her whole year). Yesterday she went skateboarding (?) with Sophia and her friend Leo from GDS. All in all, a pretty social weekend.
M took on a new spectator sport and went to the Caps game with some friends from Camp Louise on Saturday night, and then to a sleepover at one of their houses. She had a great time at the game!
N had what may be his last soccer game on Saturday and moved around a lot during the game (different teams) but those teams always won. Coincidence? His reading has also been jumpstarted with the Wimpy Kid series – he read a book start to finish yesterday! Today Grandma picked him up at Sunday School because I was on a plane back from SF and Daddy went to NY for a White House Fellows reunion brunch. This is a picture she took of him with some challah he made at Sunday School.
And him reading:
He also wrote a loooong story in his composition book about the Nats' postseason run, and can remember all of the games, who pitched and what happened. I can barely remember the World Series at this point.
Ok, back to work and school for everyone tomorrow, even though it is Veterans Day. N gets out early because we have PT conference at 1:45.
