Back From The North

Whew. I am back. Two nights in Vancouver turned into two nights in Vancouver plus one night in Chicago. We were flying back to DC via Chicago and there were storms there, so we were ordered to circle. We didn't have enough fuel so we landed in Des Moines to refuel, then went to Chicago, landing 10 minutes after my delayed flight to DC left. Sigh. And it was 10PM. SO, I rebooked for this AM and went to a hotel, slept for 3.5 hours, went back to the airport at 4:30 and took my flight to DC. Landed at 9 and was at the office at 10:10 for an offsite meeting. Thankfully I got to pick up A and N from camp so I saw them for the first time since Monday night!

Highlights of Vancouver: Corey Hart concert, running long the beach, amazing bookstore downtown, exchange rate

So glad to be home. Daddy did a great job holding down the fort, especially with lots of dropoffs.

I have asked the kids each to give me three adjectives to describe their weeks at camp:

M: Tiring, exhausting, frustrating

N: Fun, educational, arty (his favorite classes in order from most to least favorite: Amazing Race, Sports and Games, Map Skills, Art, Painting)

A: Tiring, exhausting, tiring (the girls didn't hear each other's!)

A finished her first week at Levine. She is so tired when she comes home – taking care of little kids all day is exhausting!

I have more things to post but here is something cute from N's last week of school.
